How can such a small amount of blood be tested?

Updated over a year ago

Finger prick sampling is a way to draw blood from a small capillary in your fingertip. This type of blood sampling has been used for many years and allows a sample to be collected without needing to see a healthcare professional or visit a clinic.

Advances in laboratory technologies have made it possible to run many tests simultaneously on very small sample volumes.

Our laboratory tests are very sensitive and can detect tiny amounts of viruses or bacteria. Some of our tests use polymerase chain reaction (PCR) or nucleic acid amplification tests (NAAT) techniques, which means they amplify tiny amounts of virus or bacteria to detectable levels. At Yoxly, we use the most accurate and reliable testing techniques available.
