  • Information about the infection

  • How the infection is treated

  • Where you can get treatment

  • Guidance about retesting

  • Guidance about partner notification

  • Available support networks

Testing Positive for Chlamydia or Trichomoniasis

If you test positive for chlamydia or trichomoniasis, you can order treatment via our partner, The Independent Pharmacy. We will provide information on how to access treatment from The Independent Pharmacy online. You should abstain from sex until you have completed treatment and any follow-up.

Testing Positive for Gonorrhoea

If you test positive for gonorrhoea, we will recommend you visit your local sexual health clinic. This is because additional testing may be required to determine which treatment will be most effective for you. Recommended treatment for gonorrhoea may involve an intramuscular injection, which can only be administered by a healthcare professional. You should abstain from sex until you have completed treatment and any follow-up.

Testing Positive for Mycoplasma Genitalium

If you test positive for mycoplasma genitalium, we will recommend you visit your local sexual health clinic. This is because additional testing may be required to determine which treatment will be most effective for you. You should abstain from sex until you have completed treatment and any follow-up.

Testing Positive for Syphilis

If you test positive for syphilis, we will recommend you visit your local sexual health clinic. Testing Positive in Pregnancy

If you have tested positive and are pregnant, we recommend that you visit your local sexual health clinic or general practitioner. STIs during pregnancy may require different treatment and, if left untreated, can cause pregnancy complications.
